2025 Charity Donations

 "It feels good to do good" - I enjoy and feel driven to do charity knitting each year to help others. 

KnitTogether Charity Donations  for 2025:

Knit Together donated 165 items this year: 25 Nite-Nite Totes (blanket, stuffed toy and book), 43 hats, 9 shawls/wraps, 43 blankets/afghans, 35 scarves, 9 pet bed rolls and a cardigan.  

Recipients were Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Local Homeless Drive, HCA Hospital Maternity, PetSmart Rescue and our Comfort Program. Many Thanks to Nina G., Lucy T., Linda B., Jenny M., Sylvia B. , Susan B, Ginger W. and Don G. for yarn, knitted donations and delivery to make this possible. Thank you so much for making this a productive year!!!

Knit Together donated 98 items this year: 22 Nite-Nite Totes (blanket, stuffed toy and book), 42 hats, 10 shawls/wraps, 6 blankets/afghans, 16 scarves and 2 misc.  Recipients were Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Homeless Scarf Drive, HCA Hospital Maternity and our Comfort Program. 2023 Knitted Charity Donations

 

85 items- 5 afghans, 33 lap throws/baby blankets, (26 of these were in Nite-Nite bags for the Ronald McDonald kids) 28 hats, 21 pet items, shawls, etc. These were donated throughout the year to Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Pet Rescue and the KnitTogether Comfort Program. Knit Together donated 124 items: 31 Nite-Nite Totes (blanket, stuffed toy and book), 23 hats, 16 shawls/wraps, 24 bookmarks, 15 blankets/afghans, 6 scarves and 9 pet bed rolls. Recipients were Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, PetSmart Pet Rescue, Stephen Foster Elementary Library and our Comfort Program. 2021 Charity Donations

KnitTogether donated 71 knitted items: 12 shawls, 18 hats, 22 lap throws/blankets, 10 scarves/cowls and 9 miscellaneous items. Items were donated to Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Faithful Friends Pet Rescue and the Comfort Program.

A BIG Thank You to Susan B., Carol B., Peg O., Don G. and Gainesville Handweavers Guild for knitted donations, yarns and delivery assistance. 

Knit Together Donations for 2020:

 

Our group donated 19 shawls, 19 hats, 13 lap throws, 2 afghans, and 14 "Nite-Nite" kits (each child's bag has a lap throw blanket, stuffed toy and children's book) for a grand total of 67 items. Items went to Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House and the KniTogether Comfort Program. Special "thank you"s go to Peg O, for yarn and Susan B. for yarn and knitted items. 

The Knit  Together Comfort Program: The comfort program is part of our group's charity drive. (Haven Hospice, Ronald McDonald House, Helping Hands Pet Rescue, local Homeless programs and additional Yarnsworks charities also receive items.) But we also knit items for individuals that are going through a hard time throughout the year, and the recipients can be anyone we know, not just someone in our group. It's our way to reach out to individuals, not just the bigger organizations. I take donations of yarn & items for our knitted donations.

2018 Charity

2018 Charity Donations for the Knit Together Group

86 items were distributed this year to various charities including to the Comfort Program, Haven Hospice, Helping Hands Pet Rescue & Shands Pediatric. 20 lap throw/baby blankets/pet pads, 49 hats/cowls, 13 shawls/shoulder hugs and 4 misc. knits. Thank you to Susan B, Debra J, Ginger W, Nina G, Lucy T, Cheryl W & Don G for yarn, finished items and delivery of items.
